Dear Community Members, I am thrilled to connect with you all once again! Over the past weeks, I’ve received an overwhelming number of emails expressing excitement and hope for the return of our beloved forum. Your heartfelt messages have truly touched me and have reminded me of the vibrant and supportive community we’ve built together over the years. As some of you may know, I faced a challenging period due to health issues related to post-COVID illness. For a time, I lacked the strength to manage and nurture this platform in the way I wanted to. However, I am happy to share that things are now looking up, and my health has significantly improved. I feel energized and ready to dedicate myself to rebuilding our community, bringing it back to the flourishing haven it was 15 years ago. I couldn’t have come this far without the unwavering support of my wife, who has been a pillar of strength throughout this journey. Her encouragement has motivated me to take this step forward and rekindle the connections that make this community so special. My goal is to breathe new life into this forum, ensuring it becomes a space where we can all share, inspire, and enjoy ourselves once more. Together, I believe we can create something beautiful—something that continues to bring joy and meaning to each of our lives. Thank you for your patience, your enthusiasm, and your trust in me. A dilemma
We are now six months past the aforementioned message. A lot has been done and repaired. Yet I notice that things aren’t going as hoped. What should I do? That’s the question now. I’ve been worrying about how to make this a success again. I’m currently considering renaming the forum to ShinyForums.com and disconnecting it from ShinyUploads. In fact, I’m even thinking about putting that name aside for now and starting something new.
Why do I hear you thinking right now? Well, it’s quite simple. ShinyUploads is currently blocked by several firewalls and other services because the website has an 18+ classification and is not index well by search engines because of that. Something I understand, but I’m honestly not happy about. That’s why I’m considering a fresh start, going back to basics. Just spandex, but for everyone, integrated with platforms like Instagram or TikTok. The forum will be renamed to ShinyForums, remain as it is, and become a standalone entity. What do you think about this? Please leave an comment and help me on this one.

I think you should do what feels good. But a fresh start can bring some new energy and people. But this is a rather niche subject and forums in general are experiencing a lot of competition from bigger social media platforms like Facebook and Reddit. My two cents: don't push the bar too high.
This is hard topic nowadays. Google for example really is pushing Reddit, other forums or discussion platforms alike (of any subject, also not 18+) are having a hard time to show up in search results. Unfortunately there is not that much that can be done about that.
Will there be room for 18+ content or not? (I don't have access to the 18+ forums by the way). I guess not due to the new laws then?

This is greatly appreciated. onetobeseen you’re one of the most loyal forum members, and it’s awesome that you’re still here after all these years. But the decision about the forum has been made. Around mid-October, I’ll be transforming this forum into shinyforums.com.. Besides updating the logo, I’ll also be making some technical changes for example, the email server doesn’t always deliver the registration emails reliably. I’ll also make sure the mobile experience improves significantly. The integration with shinyuploads will be removed, so I'll need to implement a new method for image moderation. This might mean that moderators will have to review posts before they're published, just like we used to do in the past. I'd really like to hear input from the members about their wishes and ideas. I always say anything is possible, but it does need to be programmed. So please share your thoughts. We also need to agree on how to handle Notice and Takedown requests (DMCA). In short, there's still a lot to sort out.
